Student Clubs

Student Leadership:
At Notus Jr. Sr. High, we are proud to foster a strong culture of student leadership. Each year, selected student leaders attend a fall leadership retreat focused on team building, personal growth, and planning for the year ahead. These students represent key leadership groups across our campus, including Student Council, Sources of Strength, FFA, and Pirate Squad (our student-led spirit and athletic leadership team). Through these programs, students develop the skills and confidence to make a positive impact in our school and community.
Sources of Strength:
Sources of Strength is a peer-led club focused on building a positive school culture and supporting student mental health and well-being. At Notus Jr. Sr. High, our Sources of Strength team works to spread hope, help, and strength throughout the school. By focusing on strengths like family support, positive friends, mentors, and healthy activities, student leaders create campaigns and events that promote connection, inclusion, and resilience. Together, they help ensure that no student ever feels alone.

Robotics:
The Notus Robotics Team is an innovative and competitive group that meets during advisory to design, build, and program robots for statewide competitions. Guided by Mr. Forbes, our team participates in the FIRST Robotics Competition, a global program that inspires students through real-world applications of STEM education. Each year, students face a brand-new game-based challenge that pushes their creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
In the summer of 2024, our team earned the incredible honor of being invited to the FRC World Championship, a testament to their hard work and dedication. Robotics at Notus isn’t just about building robotics, it’s about building leaders and future innovators.
Pirate Squad:
Pirate Squad is our student-led spirit and athletic leadership team dedicated to building pride, positivity, and energy across Notus Jr. Sr. High. These student leaders play a key role in supporting our athletic programs, organizing school spirit events, and rallying the student body to celebrate what it means to be a Pirate. Whether it's leading cheers at games, planning pep assemblies, or promoting sportsmanship, Pirate Squad helps make every school event unforgettable.
Student Council:
Student Council at Notus Jr. Sr. High gives students a voice in shaping their school experience. As elected representatives, members plan school-wide events, lead service projects, and help build a positive and inclusive campus culture. From organizing dances and spirit weeks to promoting student involvement and leadership, Student Council plays a vital role in making Notus a place where every student feels connected and heard. Student Council is advised by Mrs. Striefel.
FFA:
Notus FFA is a dynamic student organization that develops leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. Members participate in hands-on learning, leadership conferences, community service, and competitive events across the state and nation. Whether it’s public speaking, livestock judging, ag welding, greenhouse or floral design, FFA gives students real-world skills and confidence for the future.
FFA at Notus is a proud tradition, where students grow as leaders and represent our school with excellence and pride both in and out of the blue corduroy jacket guided by Mr. Barker.
Green Club:
The Green Club at Notus Jr. Sr. High is all about making a positive impact on our school and environment. Members take the lead in promoting sustainability through recycling efforts and by helping care for our community garden. Whether it’s planting, composting, or educating others about eco-friendly habits, Green Club is growing more than plants, it’s growing responsibility, teamwork, and a greener future for all. Green Club is advised by Ms. Smith.
We strongly believe that the more students are involved, the better their experience is overall in school. We are proud of the experiences we can bring to our students here at Notus Jr. Sr. High School.
